Gorgoroth

Gorgoroth es una banda noruega de black metal, fundada en 1992 por el guitarrista Infernus, el vocalista Hat y el batería Goat Pervertor en la ciudad de Bergen. El nombre del grupo proviene de una meseta del reino ficticio de Mordor del libro El Señor de los Anillos de J. R. R. Tolkien.

A través de su historia, Gorgoroth sufrió varios cambios en su formación; Infernus ha sido el único miembro constante y tuvo que tocar el bajo y la batería en algunas grabaciones. Desde su debut en 1992, la banda ha publicado nueve álbumes de estudio y Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam (2006) fue nominado al premio Spellemann al mejor álbum de metal. Desde su debut en 1992, la banda ha publicado además un álbum en vídeo, dos demos y un EP en directo.

En 2007, el vocalista Gaahl y el bajista King ov Hell realizaron actuaciones en directo bajo el nombre Gorgoroth sin la autorización de Infernus. El suceso desencadenó un largo proceso judicial que se resolvió a favor del guitarrista, quien volvió a contratar a los anteriores miembros Pest y Tormentor, así como al bajista Frank Watkins y al batería Tomas Asklund para grabar el álbum Quantos Possunt ad Satanitatem Trahunt (2009). En 2012, Pest y Tormentor abandonaron la banda y fueron reemplazados por músicos de sesión para las actuaciones en directo. Su trabajo más reciente es Instinctus Bestialis, publicado en 2015 y que supuso el debut del vocalista Atterigner.
